What are AthleteiQ clips?
Clips are short highlight videos of the waves or runs from your heat, cut automatically from the event livestream and delivered to your phone in the AthleteiQ app. No scrubbing through hours of stream footage to find your moment.
Where do the clips come from?
When an event uses the Liveheats Video Studio, our AI models process the stream in real-time. The system automatically detects every wave or run and links the footage directly to your heat.
How soon are my clips ready?
Clips are cut live - each wave or ride is clipped the moment it's caught, so your heat's clips are usually waiting in the app before the heat itself is even over.
Which events have clips?
Clips are available at events livestreamed through the Liveheats Video Studio. If your event is streamed on Liveheats, your heats will be clipped automatically. Events that aren't livestreamed don't produce clips.
Why can I see clips of other athletes in my heat?
Every wave or run in your heat is clipped automatically, so you can review your rides alongside your competitors'. See how the heat really played out, compare your approach, and study what it took to win.
Why is one of my rides missing?
Clipping depends on the stream. If the broadcast dropped out, the camera missed the ride, or the ride wasn't detected, a clip may not be produced. There's a feedback option on the clips screen in the app - reports genuinely help us improve detection.
Can I share my clips?
Yes. Every clip can be downloaded or shared straight to your camera roll, a group chat, your socials or your sponsors.
Do clips cost anything?
Clips are unlocked per event, and the price is shown in the app when you open your heat - it varies by region. Some events are sponsored, and clips at those events are free for the athletes competing. AthleteiQ itself is always free to download and use.
My event isn't livestreamed - can I still get clips?
Not yet. Clips come from the event livestream, so the event needs to be streaming with the Liveheats Video Studio. If you'd like clips at your events, ask your event organiser about livestreaming on Liveheats.
Which sports have clips?
All of them. Clips work at any livestreamed Liveheats event, whatever the sport - surfing, snowboarding, skating, BMX, surf lifesaving and more. If your event streams on Liveheats, your heats or runs get clipped.
What is AthleteiQ?
AthleteiQ is the free companion app for athletes competing in events on Liveheats. Stay across your schedule, results and event updates on comp day - and track your full competition history long after it ends.
